To become the Men’s Welfare Officer, you must consider yourself to be a male. Within this role you must represent the male students within college at all sites (Easton, Paston and Norfolk House), you must advocate the wishes, views and demands of male students and share these with the Students’ Union and College. To ensure you are providing a wide variety of support you should promote local groups and organisations which work on men’s welfare issues. To widen your knowledge make yourself aware of men’s rights and NUS men’s right campaigns, it would be great if you became an active member in these campaigns and event opportunities. To raise awareness, it would be beneficial for you to host foyer activities and campaigns for students to get involved in, this will benefit you and your role development but will also enhance student engagement.
