BAME Officer

Consider themselves to be of a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) background. ii. Ensure that BAME students are represented within the college. iii. Establish and maintain contact with, and provide information from, groups and organizations which work on BAME issues. iv. Keep up to date with changes in BAME student’s rights and NUS BAME campaigns. Keep students informed on these. v. Attend BAME student’s conferences organized by NUS. vi. Monitor City College’s provision for BAME students and bring failings in this provision to the attention of the Students’ Union and the College. vii.Carry out other duties as laid down by the Students’ Union Executive Committee and Student Parliament. viii. Help out with events like Black History Month. ix. Be a member of Student Parliament, and present relevant reports. x. Act reasonably and prudently in all matters, and in the best interests of the Students’ Union. xi. Establish a number of projects relating to BAME students’ education, welfare and social needs at the beginning of the year, as agreed by the Students’ Union Executive Committee. xii.Present relevant reports to the Students’ Union
