Job descriptions of these roles can be found on Blackboard and on the notice board outside the SU Office (Norwich Building A40a). Log into your College account, and from the Blackboard homepage click on the ‘college information’ circle then the ‘Elections’ link in the left hand side and then ‘Students’ Union Election’. You’ll also find here other documents relating to the elections, and if you’re thinking of standing for election you should have a look at these. Hard copies of these documents are also available upon request.
All the posts are to start from Wednesday 7th November 2018, and are for the 2018-19 academic year. If you have any questions about any of the posts or would like further information, Luke Mitchell (current President) or Jess Crowley (current Deputy President) would be happy to talk to you and give you an idea of exactly what is involved. Get in touch – firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Election packs & nominations
The Election Packs will be available online from Tuesday 25th September 2018 or alternatively you can obtain a copy from either the Main Reception at Ipswich Road Campus, main reception Norfolk House Campus, the Students’ Union office (A40a, Norwich Building, Ipswich Road Campus) and Student Services (Library) at Paston.
Nominations for these posts open on Tuesday 2nd October 2018 and close on Monday 8th October 2018 at 5pm. As elections are closed, all open positions are available to those interested, the easist way to nominate yourself is to call us on 01603773425.
Campaigning & voting
Campaigning starts on Wednesday 10th October and voting will take place from Monday 29th October and close Friday 2nd November 2018 at 5:00pm. All students will have the opportunity to vote using an online system by logging into Blackboard with their account and using any computer connected to the internet.
Please note that if you are nominated as a candidate, the SU constitution requires you to attend a ‘question time’ session during the elections, the details of which you can find on the Election Timetable. This is important since if you do not attend you could be considered to have withdrawn as a candidate. If you have any question about this, Luke or Jess would be pleased to talk to you.
We have a staff member of the college called Jacky who is our Returning Officer, this is to provide an independent voice to ensure that the elections are conducted fairly and in a transparent manner. Please don’t hesitate to contact her or any of the SU team if you have any concerns.
Best wishes and good luck, Students' Union Team
